My goal here is to defend Popper and his criterion of falsifiability from the Duhem-Quine thesis. In part one, I will examine Popper’s own position and reveal that not only was Popper aware of the Duhem-Quine problem before most of his critics, but he also proposed a methodological solution to it. In part two, I will attempt to demonstrate that the Duhem-Quine thesis is either false, insofar as it’s interesting, or trivial, insofar as it’s true. In either case, the Duhem-Quine thesis no longer stands as a refutation of Popper’s criterion of falsifiability.

The Sāṁkhyapravacana Sūtra in verse no. 1.92 directly states that existence of "God is unproved". Hence there is no philosophical place for a creationist God in this system. It is also argued by commentators of this text that the existence of Ishvara cannot be proved and hence cannot be admitted to exist.[45] Classical Samkhya argues against the existence of God on metaphysical grounds.

Abul ʿAla Al-Maʿarri (Arabic أبو العلاء المعري Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Maʿarrī, full name أبو العلاء أحمد بن عبد الله بن سليمان التنوخي المعري Abū al-ʿAlāʾ Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sulaimān al-Tanūẖī al-Maʿarrī, born AD 973 / AH 363, died AD 1058 / AH 449) was a blind Arab philosopher, poet and writer.[1][2]

He was a controversial rationalist of his time, attacking the dogmas of religion rejecting the claim that Islam or any other religion possessed the truths they claim and considered the speech of prophets as a lie (literally, "forge") and (some of it) "impossible" to be true. He was equally sarcastic towards the religions of Muslims, Jews, and Christians. He was also a vegan who argued for animal rights.

By the way, I thought you might find this funny. I wrote a spoof abstract full of theological gibberish (Sokal-style) and submitted it to two theology conferences, both of which accepted it right away. It got into the proceedings of the Reformational Philosophy conference. See Robert A. Maundy (an anagram of my name) on p. 22 of the program proceedings.
